Luxury Sunglasses Review + How to Store/Display Sunglasses

Hi there! As I mentioned in my last post, I have been super into sunglasses as of late. I reviewed my more affordable sunglasses last week, so now it’s time to get a little bougie *pinkies up in air* and review the luxury sunglasses in my collection.  There’s nothing like a ridiculous pair of sunglasses (luxury or otherwise) to take your look up a notch.  I’m also going to share how I store and display my sunglasses collection because these things are too cute to be sitting in a closet somewhere.

I’m starting here with a fun black and tan round pair from Loewe. I had been eyeing these for a couple of months before pulling the trigger. I was in Saks and was buying a belt from the little Loewe counter when I just so happened to mention these sunglasses to the saleswoman. To my surprise, she had these in stock and being the easily persuaded person I am, I had to have them.  As you can see these are mostly round and are a little flatter on the bottom of the lenses. You can get these in solid black, but I opted for an ombre black into a sheer tan. The arms have a cursive Loewe logo on both sides. These sunglasses give me 72-year-old heiress. I feel like I have a driver and a summer home on Martha’s Vineyard when I wear these. Every time I wear them, I swear my credit score goes up just a little.

Now, these are not the most comfortable sunglasses to be completely honest. The way they fit on my nose lets them slide down a bit and I’m constantly pushing them back up on my face. This is something you kinda have to wear them for a while to notice. So, when I tried them on in store, this wasn’t apparent. But I guess when you’re an heiress you can hire someone to keep your sunglasses on your face, so maybe I’m just too regular for these 😂. They also don’t fit as snug on the sides of my face as I’d like, but perhaps that’s a good thing since they don’t squeeze the side of my head. All in all, I do still enjoy these sunglasses, but I’d advise you to try them on in store before purchasing. If you’re interested, these retail for $310 and you can find the Loewe round acetate sunglasses here

Okay so my next pair are by Miu Miu and I got them from the Sunglass Hut last summer. I believe these are a few seasons old, so I got them for a pretty good deal (around $100). These are cat eye sunglasses, which tend to be my favorite style. The have a thick frame around the top of the lenses but the bottom is frameless. I wasn’t sure these would be comfortable because they have the little nose pads which I don’t usually like.  I was wrong though and these are super easy to wear.  The lenses are dark enough so that you have some sun protections but as you can tell from the photo, you can see my eyes through these.  I was so taken with these when I first got them that I wore them to the beach which I instantly regretted because a piece of sand left a tiny scratch on the lenses.  Note to future self: do NOT bring luxury sunglasses to the beach!  The lenses are also kind of narrow which gives you that cool girl vibe that has been hanging around for the past few seasons.  These Miu Mius are a lot of fun to wear and give a good edge to any look.  The case is also this pink velvet that really adds a touch of luxury making them feel even more special.  You can also find these with little gemstones on the frames which is also very ‘in’ these days.  Since I got mine from an outlet, they’re a little hard to find online now but you can find a similar pair here.

Next are one of my favorite pairs EVER.  These are the Bottega Veneta Angle Cat Eye Sunglasses in Red.  Even the lenses are a mirrored red.  The cat eye is extremely exaggerated and there’s this 3D feel to the frames that make you look like a Disney villain when you wear them, especially in this red color.  I first saw these on social media in black but when I saw them in other colors, that really sealed the deal for me.  These are not only cool looking, but they are also super comfortable and do not squeeze your head or slide down while you’re wearing them.  They are the type of sunglasses that you can wear all day with no problem.  I know it may seem intimidating to get a pair of sunglasses that are this esoteric, but they are surprisingly wearable.  Of course, you can always get them in black which would make them even more versatile.  Now these retail for around $400 but they do go on sale.  I got mine for $200 on Farfetch last month and they are one of my favorite purchases this year.  I understand that these are still expensive so a good alternative to these would be the cat eyes from Amazon that I recommended last week.  But if you are ready to take the plunge, I’d highly recommend these Bottegas.  You can find them here.

My last pair of sunglasses are a splurge and may not be everyone’s cup of tea.  But they stole my heart the first time that I put them on.  The Fendi Disco sunglasses were released with Fendi’s Spring/Summer 2022 runway show.  Originally, I was interested in the Blue reflective pair but then I tried on the Pink.  These offer pretty much zero protection from the sun and are not all that comfortable.  The arms squeeze into the side of my head after a little while of wearing them.  However, get into those lenses please.  Get into the Fendi logo on each side with that little transparent panel that matches the lenses.  Get into the oversized frame that gives modern and yet still hearkens back to the Cazals from back in the day.  Do not get into the retail price of $520 that I had to pay for these.  (I know, I know, but this is a LUXURY sunglasses review after all.) I tried them on back in March but the price told me to wait a little.  Of course, by the time I went back to purchase them in April they had sold out.  The salesman told me they probably wouldn’t come back because this was a one-off collection but lo and behold they came back in stock in May.  You have never seen a person hit add to cart so fast.  Like I mentioned, these are not for comfort.  But every time I wear them, I feel like a million bucks.  If you are also enamored with these, you can find them here.

Okay so now that I have gushed about my favorite sunglasses, you are probably wondering, where does she put all those darn things?  Well, boy do I have an answer for you.  I recently purchased these acrylic shelves that I hung up by the door.  They have two little screw holes each and you can use a level to make sure they are lined up straight before making the holes.  I used my drill to make the holes and the shelves come with a little screw driver that you can use when actually putting the shelves up.  I put these up right by the door so that I can grab a pair on my way out.  Since they are clear, they easily match the other décor in my apartment.  It’s almost like a little boutique in my hallway where I can pick up a pair of sunglasses, check out how they look in my mirror and go.  There were 3 shelves in the pack and that was enough for my whole sunglasses collection.  If I ever need more, I think that is a sign to just stop buying things.  Next up, I have to find a shelf for all of my hats!

Hopefully this luxury sunglasses review was helpful. Let me know some of your favorite sunglasses that you’ll be wearing all summer!   In the meantime, you can check out these sunglasses in motion in my Youtube video below.
